Yemeni National Resistance Intercepts 3 Million Detonators and 3,600 meters of Explosive Fuse Bound for Houthis
The Yemeni National Resistance forces thwarted two attempts to smuggle large quantities of military equipment to the Houthi terrorist militia via the Red Sea, in a joint operation carried out by the Navy, Coast Guard, and the Resistance’s General Intelligence Division.
Military media stated that patrols from the First Marine Infantry Brigade and the Coast Guard executed two separate missions based on precise intelligence from the Resistance’s General Intelligence Division, intercepting two sailboats (Jalab boats) loaded with materials used to manufacture explosives, including satellite communication systems destined for the Houthi militia.
Initial investigations revealed that the 14 crew members aboard the intercepted vessels confessed to ties with the Houthi militia and admitted they were en route from Djibouti to the port of Ras Issa in Hodeidah.
The seized shipments included 3 million detonators, 3,600 meters of explosive fuse wires, and 64 satellite communication devices. Experts confirmed that the detonators are typically used in booby-trapped boats, suicide drones, and remotely controlled minefields operated via batteries or infrared technology, while the wires are employed to link explosive networks.
The National Resistance’s military media circulated a video documenting the interception of the smuggled cargo, underscoring the success of the operation.
